While 85 million Americans are uninsured or underinsured, the CEOs of six health insurance and services companies made a combined $355 million in 2022 – 18% more than in 2021. We have got to guarantee health care to all people as a right, not a privilege.

Harry Belafonte was not only a great entertainer, but he was a courageous leader in the fight against racism and worker oppression. Jane and I were privileged to consider him a friend and will miss him very much. https://t.co/TO2xrz0GJF

If we do not move aggressively to combat climate change and if we allow the planet to become increasingly unlivable, we will be showing absolute contempt for our younger generation. We must act now.

Comcast is one of the eight multinational media companies that control the news you watch, read, and hear. Shock of shocks. They are deploying illegal anti-union tactics against their employees. Media workers, like all workers, must be allowed to organize free of intimidation. https://t.co/dwjSZMhW06

Today on Yom HaShoah we remember the 6 million Jews murdered in the Holocaust. At a time of rising antisemitism, racism, and xenophobia, we must honor them today and every day by standing together against all forms of hate, bigotry, and intolerance.

Our rigged tax code has benefitted the wealthy and powerful for far too long.

Let me congratulate the @ruaaup for waging a successful strike resulting in a 48% pay raise for adjunct faculty, a 33% pay raise for graduate workers & increased job security. When workers stand together & fight for justice there's nothing they cannot accomplish.

Corporate greed is JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup and Wells Fargo making $22.2 billion in profits last quarter by charging outrageous interest rates on credit cards, mortgages and auto loans. We need to end this modern day loan sharking and impose a reasonable cap on interest rates.

It is imperative that we make sure that new technology like artificial intelligence works for us, and not just a few billionaires who already control everything else about our economy. https://t.co/9mT9YsHNqn

At a time of rampant corporate greed and increasing inequality, young people know that the only way we will win real gains for the working class is by growing the trade union movement. We need to make it easier for workers to join a union. https://t.co/0VV4zSdfXB

There's something profoundly wrong in the global economy when 350 million people are "marching toward starvation" according to the United Nations, while the top 1% now own 5,500 yachts that are at least 100-feet long. We need a wealth tax to combat this grotesque inequality.

Let me be very clear. We do not have a 'labor shortage' in this country.
What we have is a working class who are saying they aren't going to work longer hours for lower wages in unsafe conditions while corporations make record profits. https://t.co/oWcR2w0gOO

Tuesday was a HUGE night for the progressive movement with @Brandon4Chicago and @janetforjustice's victories. What we have got to do all over this country is continue the struggle to build a government that works for all of us, not just the wealthy few.

Last night, the people of Chicago proved that when they stand together, they can elect leadership that will invest in the needs of working families, not the wealthy and well-connected.

CONGRATULATIONS to Mayor-Elect @Brandon4Chicago on your win last night! https://t.co/3w2L0zvMuj

How do we create more stability and job security for working class people all across the country? Raise the minimum wage. Strengthen and grow the trade union movement. Invest in our young people. That's how we make sure every person in this country earns a living wage. https://t.co/YNZNaA33ND

Today, some 55 years on from the assassination of Dr. King, let us not forget where he was at the time of his death. He was standing with striking workers in Memphis, Tennessee who were being exploited on the job. That is our struggle today and the struggle continues.
