The literal meaning of islam is peace, safe, submission, and purity. The word of islam is formed by three alphabets, those are S (sin), L (lam), M (mim) that has the basic meaning 'selamat (safe)' (Salama).

The definition of Islam in language

Islam comes from the word aslama that comes from the root word salama. The word of islam is a form of mashdar (infinitive) from the word aslama. 

In terms of the language associated with the origin of the word, islam has a few definition, such as:
1. It comes from the word 'salm' that means peace.
Understanding Islam litterally means peace, safeness/survive, submissive, and clean. The word Islam is made up of three letters, namely S (sin), L (lam), M (mim) which means basic "safe/safeness" (Salama)
